Nelson's closest hillside walkway can be accessed from a variety of locations near the central city. The best way is to walk straight up Collingwood Street and keep going, reaching the tracks that wind alongside the city and provide views across Tasman Bay. The routes on Grampians vary in their physical difficulty, from steep “grinds” to relatively gentle strolls. Every track includes a certain degree of uphill, but the physical challenge is part of the appeal. They can be combined in many ways to form loops of varying lengths and difficulty.
