Perilous: Unheard stories from the collection

From 6 August, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū

A new long-term exhibition covering different mediums and decades draws together recent additions and rarely seen items from the collection. The narratives of galleries have often been dominated by the conventional, prioritizing male, Western and heterosexual viewpoints. Perilous gives space to fresh voices and disruptive ideas. It includes works by Rita Angus, Eileen Mayo, Robyn Kahukiwa, Star Gossage, Sriwhana Spong, Angela Tiatia and Louisa Afoa. christchurchartgallery.org.nz
