Antiques and Oddities

One of the great joys of exploring small towns is the eclectic, teeny-tiny shops that act as time capsules. There are several antiques and second-hand shops across the Kauri Coast. Moonshine & Curios (on Facebook) in Paparoa is one such shop. Brewers can pick up supplies while browsing vintage items or devouring the owner's collection of old-fashioned lollies. JCJ's CoOp in Maungaturoto (144 Hurndall Street East) is run by Jade and Jules Wild, a mother-son duo (though more son than mum these days as Jules spends more time enjoying her little, white country villa). The shop is a treasure trove with finds from Dargaville to Waipū. There's also Maungaturoto Second Hand

(on Facebook), which is a more traditional antiques and second-hand shop, with homewares big and small.
